The research project
This survey is an integral part of the research project “Regulating pesticide use in Uganda – a policy analysis”, funded and executed by the Swiss Federal Research Institute on Aquatic Science and Technology (EAWAG) and the Institute of Political Science (IPW), University of Bern, Switzerland. It is furthermore a follow-up study of the previously conducted PESTROP project, which investigated heath, environmental and institutional dimensions of pesticide use in Uganda.
The survey
With this survey, we strive to deepen our knowledge of pesticide management in Uganda. Most importantly, we would like to better understand how the relevant stakeholders evaluate different measures to reduce pesticide risks and promote responsible pesticide use in the country. Furthermore, we are interested in how these stakeholders collaborate to develop, introduce, implement, and evaluate pesticide regulation. The survey provides you with the opportunity to express your attitudes and opinions related to pesticide management and regulation in Uganda.
Your organisation's role
To our knowledge, you are a relevant stakeholder regarding chemicals/pesticides and their relation to trade, agricultural, environmental and health matters in Uganda. Hence, your participation in this survey is essential for the success of the research, while providing you with the unique opportunity to express your perspective on this important topic.
When answering the following questions, we kindly request you to take in the perspective of your position in your organisation/company/government: please answer the questions as representative of your organisation and set aside your personal opinion as an individual.
We would like to thank you in advance for answering the questionnaire and for your valuable support in the data-gathering process. Completing the questionnaire should not take more than 30-45 minutes.
We will greatly appreciate if you can complete the questionnaire within the next couple of days. Please note that if you rather prefer to be interviewed face-to-face by our research assistants, we are happy to make an appointment.
